In the field of railway transport, as in other branches of mechanical engineering, the applica-tion of advanced modern materials and ensuring their reliability is one of the most crucial tasks. This article examines the types of sleepers currently used in railway transport worldwide, the types of materials employed in their production, and identifies the loads transmitted to the sleepers through railway rails from rolling stock. Based on the obtained data, numerical studies of changes in the speed and displacement magnitude of the freight car's spring suspension were conducted using the MATHCAD 15 program.
