Abstract

The article presents a dynamic analysis of a newly designed camshaft cam used in internal combustion engines. The study explores the structural characteristics of the cam mechanism, the role of the pressure angle, types of follower motion, and the calculation of torque using both theoretical and graphical methods. To enhance the wear resistance of the cam’s working surfaces, the use of high-strength materials and modern profiling techniques is proposed. The article also elaborates on the development of the new design, its assembly technology, and methods to extend service life. The results are significant for improving the reliability of the camshaft-follower system and enhancing the performance of automotive engines
