Abstract

Alt­hough pa­raf­fin de­po­si­tion in gas-con­den­sa­tes has been par­tially stu­died, re­sin and asp­hal­te­ne-re­la­ted comp­li­ca­tions ha­ve re­cei­ved re­la­ti­vely litt­le at­ten­tion. Pre­viously, it was com­monly as­su­med that asp­hal­te­nes are comp­le­tely ab­sent in con­den­sa­tes. Howe­ver, re­cent stu­dies ha­ve de­monst­ra­ted that oil ac­cu­mu­la­tions pre­sent in so­me gas-con­den­sa­te re­ser­voirs can dis­sol­ve in the con­den­sa­te and la­ter pre­ci­pi­ta­te in wells and pro­duc­tion fa­ci­li­ties. This ar­tic­le stu­dies the na­tu­re of asp­hal­te­ne-re­sin-pa­raf­fin de­po­si­tion prob­lems in gas-con­den­sa­te fields and the de­ve­lop­ment of a new tech­no­logy for their re­mo­val using va­rious com­bi­na­tions of light py­roly­sis tar and napht­he­nic acid.
