The article investigates the assessment of water level and flood risk zones in the Lankaran River Basin using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the Digital Elevation Model (DEM). The study examines the role of remote sensing technologies in analyzing water resource dynamics and presents methodological approaches for identifying flood-prone areas. The basin mapping and the hydrological analysis were performed using ArcGIS software and the existing spatial databases. The distribution of flood risks was evaluated based on the intensity of previous flood events and their geographical causes. The proposed approach enables the analysis of influencing factors and the accurate delineation of hazard zones. As a result, it is concluded that the integration of DEM and GIS provides precise and effective mapping of flood risk zones in the Lankaran River Basin.
